Bright & Fluttery Floral Midi Dress - Siren Song - Spell And The Gypsy Collective

Updated: Jun 3

This midi length floral print dress is the first dress that I ever bought from my now favorite clothing brand Spell And The Gypsy Collective. This dress was one of those pieces that I felt absolutely compelled to get my hands on, and it certainly contributed in paving the way to my addiction and obsession with the brand.

What I find so interesting about this floral print dress is the cut of the hem line, which is longer at the front and back and shorter at the sides, so it's almost half mini half midi.

I'm usually not a fan of ruffle detail around the bust, it has a tendency to make me feel a little little girlish, but it's actually quite practical as you can go sans bra without worrying about nipples showing through the clothing. (Yay, I hate bras!)

I feel that a wedding would be the perfect occasion to wear this floral printed dress to, and in fact if I ever get married. I have ideas about hunting down a few more of these Siren Song dresses for my bridesmaids (you're welcome ladies.)

As fond as I am of this dress, I don't seem to reach for it a whole lot. In fact I like this dress so much so that I bought a second one in a different color way (pink), which I ended up getting converted into a skirt. I will feature this one in a future post.

I guess the reason that I don't reach for this floral printed dress much is that being very bright and frilly, I've just got to be in the mood for it, and on a lovely warm day. So long as I manage to get 2-3 wears out of it between summer and spring, I can justify hanging on to this beauty!
