I purchased this dress second hand, and honestly, I listed it for resale hours after trying it on as it initially looked baggy and unflattering on me. I've never been a fan of the baby doll style - cropped top, full& floaty skirt. I've seen it look great on others, but feel that it looks frumpy on me..

I couldn't stop thinking about the dress however after listing it for sale, the colors, print, and button down front really appealed to me. So I decided to give the dress a chance..

Usually my solution to bagginess would be to belt the waist, but that doesn't really work with a baby doll style dress. I used a brooch to pull in the waist, pinning it at the front, top of the skirt and that's when I decided to keep the dress.

The brooch solution works well to cinch in the waist with this style, adding gathering detail which makes it even prettier. Now to start a brooch collection...
